Overview

 

 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Supply Chain, the Analyst supports transportation financial management, performance analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives. Leveraging data, automation, and business intelligence tools, the role delivers actionable insights, enhances reporting capabilities, and supports cost optimization across inbound, outbound, and e-commerce transportation networks.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

•    Develop and maintain transportation dashboards, KPIs, and automated reporting solutions to support operational and financial decision-making. 
•    Deliver weekly and monthly transportation performance and financial reporting, highlighting key trends, risks, opportunities, and variances. 
•    Analyze transportation spend, invoices, service performance, and cost drivers to identify discrepancies, risks, and savings opportunities. 
•    Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, providing insights into transportation cost performance and emerging trends. 
•    Develop financial analyses, business cases, and scenario models to support planning and operational initiatives. 
•    Provide analytical support for carrier sourcing initiatives, rate reviews, contract negotiations, and RFx activities, including lane analysis, pricing evaluations, and savings validation. 
•    Identify opportunities to improve transportation processes, reporting capabilities, data quality, and operational efficiency through automation and continuous improvement initiatives. 
•    Partner with Transportation, Finance, Distribution, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support reporting requirements and business objectives. 
•    Support carrier management activities, including performance tracking, spend reviews, account maintenance, and issue resolution. 
•    Provide ad hoc analysis and recommendations in support of departmental priorities and strategic initiatives.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field. 
•    3-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain analytics, finance, or a related analytical role. 
•    Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. 
•    Experience working with large datasets and translating complex information into actionable business insights. 
•    Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost analysis processes. 
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and influence cross-functional stakeholders. 
•    Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
•    Self-motivated, adaptable, and results-oriented, with a continuous improvement mindset.

 

Technical Skills


•    Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, data modeling, and complex formulas. 
•    Experience with Power BI, QuickSight, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and visualization tools. 
•    Experience with SQL for data extraction, analysis, and reporting. 
•    Experience with Python or similar tools to automate processes, manipulate large datasets, and improve analytical capabilities.
•    Experience with agentic AI, generative AI, or AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, AI agents, workflow automation platforms) to support analysis, reporting automation, process improvement, and decision-making is considered an asset.
