Your role

The Assistant Line Builder will play a key role in supporting the line management team to develop a global collection aligned with the product stories of Go-to-Market (GTM). A primary responsibility of the Assistant Line Builder is to thoroughly manage the product lifecycle, including accurate and timely data entry, ensuring prompt communication with vendors and collaborating teams, and providing valuable trend and product insights.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the full product lifecycle for the collection category, including data entry, product creation, and handover, ensuring accurate and timely input from product creation through to handover
  • Analyze weekly sales recaps to monitor and evaluate collection category performance
  • Maintain communication and relationships with agents, including timely follow-ups
  • Negotiate product costing and set retail prices to achieve departmental Initial Markup (IMU) targets
  • Support line building activities such as trend research, product proposals, and preparation of product specifications
  • Assist the Senior Line Builder with daily tasks and responsibilities
  • Oversee the reception and organization of prototypes and sales samples
  • Maintain and organize the product sample library to ensure easy accessibility
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations
  • Conduct trend research, perform competitive shopping analysis, and carry out bi-monthly store visits to gather market insights

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree; fashion merchandising or business is a plus
  • A minimum of two years in product development and or buying of women’s fashion product
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Highly organized
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Specifically Power Point and Excel)
  • Experience with a PLM system is considered an asset
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills in English with a basic knowledge of French an asset
  • Passion for fashion and fashion savvy
  • Teamwork oriented
