Overview

The PR & Social Media Coordinator plays a key role in executing ALDO’s public relations and social media strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement. The coordinator will serve as a key point of contact for the US PR agency as well as all internal Canadian media requests.

Reporting to the PR Director, the ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Key responsibilities include sample management, developing press materials such as seasonal lookbooks and newsletters, reporting, coordinating product gifting and media/stylist requests.

Collaboration is essential, requiring strong communication with teams across buying, product development, visual merchandising, and brand content. With a proactive and solutions-driven mindset, the PR Coordinator ensures seamless execution of initiatives that strengthen ALDO’s presence and engagement across media, social media platforms, and consumers.

 

Key Responsibilities

Sample management:

  • Oversee seasonal sample orders and cross-departmental validation of seasonal product databases & product orders.
  • Fill in product information per market (CAD and US), per category.
  • Update line sheets based on the timing of sample orders and sample dispatch.
  • Reception, triage and ship samples in a timely manner to New York agency for seasonal press days and ongoing press & stylist gifting initiatives.
  • Follow-up on samples orders, resolve issues, provide missing information when required in a timely manner.
  • Prepare shipping documents, including pro formas for international shipments.

Develop various press materials such as seasonal look books & newsletters:

  • Build copy briefs and work with translators.
  • Build design briefs and work with graphic designer to create look books & newsletters artwork.
  • Track and monitor photo studio image database for lookbook and newsletter creation.

Fulfill media & stylist requests:

  • Product fact checks.
  • Share imagery and/or appropriate PR tools.
  • Coordinate store pulls.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the internal PR media list database.
  • Track monthly media coverage for US and monitor bi- weekly media coverage and file press clippings for Canada.
  • Contribute to the conception, development and execution of brand activations and events.
  • Assisting social team with channel posting and Pinterest maintenance.

 

Key Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, public relations or marketing.
  • 1-2+ years of professional public relations or marketing experience, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once and work under pressure.
  • Flexible with work schedule changes.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to display maturity, discipline and professionalism in a high-pressure environment.
  • Highly independent and a team player.
  • Knowledge of fashion and lifestyle media, as well as the fashion industry in general.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and experience with Meltwater an asset.
