The visual merchandiser (Head Office) is responsible for the strategic merchandising of a brand, a banner, or a product. The visual merchandiser also supports the sales and operations team through coaching and training the teams, conducting store visits and attending store openings. Also responsible for merging all aspects of visual merchandising communications and compiling this information into well designed formats.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Develop creative merchandising strategies that drive sales and meet the business objectives of the company
  • Analyze PKs/reports to ensure accuracy of building
  • Manage all aspects of the showroom including sample reception and visual merchandising tool inventory
  • Analyze sales results using sales recaps for each region
  • Create clear and precise communication documents for each merchandising strategy
  • Ensure brand integrity is maintained in all merchandising strategies
  • Visit stores virtually on a regular basis to ensure merchandising strategies are executed successfully
  • Visit competition on a regular basis to observe and document the seasonal market and merchandising strategies of other retailers
  • Contribute to the seasonal workshops, and propose innovative ideas and merchandising strategies
  • Supports different AGI Market Week activities
  • Provide feedback and support to the sales and operations team regarding store visits, store openings and renovations
  • Partner with the sales and operations team for seasonal visual merchandising workshops and/or training meetings
  • Stay ahead on all merchandising and fashion trends and always represent the brand image
  • Work in close collaboration with other departments for assistance with sample management and merchandising strategies
  • Keep in constant alignment with Marketing strategies when building displays
  • Perform advanced photo retouching
  • Create VM updates (creating layouts for communication to stores) using Adobe InDesign

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • AEC or DEC in fashion design or fashion marketing or relevant work experience (2 to 3 years)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • This position requires fluency in both French and English as it involves communication with clients and stakeholders outside of Canada, where English is the primary language of business. (a third language is an asset)
  • Strong creative skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work within strict deadlines
  • Solid understanding of fashion and merchandising trends
  • Ability to be proactive, self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to analyze and understand sales statistics and results
  • Strong computer skills (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Microsoft Office) + Lightroom (An Asset)
  • Ability to work with MAC
  • Ability to work at our Montreal Head office. This position requires an on‑site presence, with employees working from the office five (5) days per week.
